Just like our Roma model, the Firenze rug takes us back to the look and feel of the 1970s! With its reassuring lines and the powerfully nostalgic impact of its chequered pattern, our Firenze rug, made from two types of wool, supplies the graphic touch you need to banish the boredom from any setting.
Firenze, the rug that encourages laziness
Seventies inspiration, a strong graphic motif, and incomparably soft with its deep pile: Firenze: a rug full of character that positively encourages laziness! Firenze is captivating: the elegant, decidedly vintage design will add warmth to any room and dress it up at the same time.
The Socialite Family design studio has created a relaxing and mesmerising motif for our Firenze rug. A pattern infused with nostalgia - a nod to the exterior façade of the Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral in Florence - that blends visual simplicity with technical prowess. With its continuously alternating rectangles in relief on two levels, Firenze will bring a highly desirable touch of quirkiness to any decorative scheme.
Thanks to the incomparable softness of its two wool yarns - one Baccara and the other from New Zealand, with a boucle finish - the Firenze rug invites idleness and transforms your rooms, making them instantly cosy and welcoming. A carpet you could happily spend long days lazing upon, Firenze becomes a means of expression in your children's room or a bedside rug in your bedroom. In a living room, it complements the beauty of your decorative scheme and offers an invitation to linger. It looks superb in front of our Rotondo sofa, and combines remarkably well with wood finishes. We can imagine it positioned under an Orso coffee table, for example, with the travertine or smoked glass of our Carlotta coffee tables.
Pinton: manufacturer of rugs and carpets crafted with unique expertise that combines art and materials
Like our range of Roma et Luna rugs, Firenze has been lovingly created by Pinton, who have been putting their exceptional skills and know-how to work since 1867. This workshop based in Felletin, in the Creuse region, has been involved in the development of French textile art throughout the world for over 150 years. It is one of the benchmark producers in the field of exceptional carpets and tapestries, which over the years has seen the work of artists including Calder, Delaunay, Le Corbusier, and more recently Enzo Cucchi, Joe Tilson and Etel Adnan pass through its looms.
Our Firenze rug has been worked using two special techniques: a natural Baccara wool is combined with a New Zealand-style wool worked in bouclé. A tailor-made design for a remarkable result with two lengths of pile.
Use a low-powered vacuum cleaner for daily maintenance (be careful not to vacuum in the wrong direction). If there is a stain, remove it with a commercial stain remover before it soaks in. For more information about caring for your rug, please refer to the instructions supplied with it.
