The cotton gauze Copertina throw was one of the very first products we brought out. Over time, it's become a cornerstone of The Socialite Family's range.
Portuguese textile expertise
Thanks to the unique textile expertise of our Portuguese workshops, our Copertina throw is a true artisanal product. When we were looking for manufacturers, there was only one country on our list. Portugal - and in particular the Porto region - has a long tradition of linen making. Its impressive reputation stretches back to the 19th century.
Working with the natural fibres that make up cotton gauze takes time. This material, once used for babies' nappies, is as kind to the skin as it is to the environment. It takes several days of work to make a Copertina throw. Each piece is made of four layers of cotton gauze, making it extra hardwearing without compromising on softness.
Why we love cotton gauze
The Socialite Family will never get tired of cotton gauze. It just has so many advantages as a material: it's natural, kind to skin, environmentally friendly and soft, and it just gets better with use. Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification means you can rest assured our cotton gauze is completely free of chemicals that could harm your body or the environment. Trust The Socialite Family to look after your skin - and your family's - with the Copertina throw.
We want the Copertina throw to withstand all kinds of use but still look stunning, so we make it from four layers of cotton gauze. Don't leave it for best - use it! Suitable for young and old alike, this creation is designed for living.
