Round Rug, Blue - Roma - The Socialite Family
The Roma rug, an homage to the sophistication and elegance of the Italian city, is a creation of our own design studio and is woven and made by manufacturers Pinton. Seventies inspirations, a completely curved and rounded graphic design and a combination of soft colours: discover its story. Available in three different sizes and colours.
A seventies retro look
The Roma rug and the moving interplay of its design transports us back to the aesthetic of the 1970s! A prolific period for both design and fashion, the 70s have been a fertile source of inspiration for Constance Gennari, founder and artistic director of The Socialite Family.
Ample forms combined with colourful graphic motifs, as dictated by the fashion of the era: in creating the Roma rug, our design studio also drew inspiration from the world of designer Pierre Cardin. A style with a slightly futuristic, sophisticated touch, in which particular attention is paid to the cuts. Our Roma rug has been designed in the way the leading light in French couture might have approached the creation of a new item of clothing, in the manner of a sculpture. Intertwining, by turn, geometry and colour.
Manufacturers Pinton: a unique set of expertise and know-how combining art with materials
The Roma rug is made by Pinton, who have been putting their exceptional skills and know-how to work since 1867. Based in Felletin in the French region of Creuse, this famous workshop has been contributing the rise in the art of French textiles throughout the world for more than 150 years. One of the standard-bearing names in the world of high quality carpet and upholstery, Pinton has over the years seen a parade of well-known artists turn to its specialised weaving services, such as Calder, Delaunay, Le Corbusier and, more recently, Enzo Cucchi, Joe Tilson and Etel Adnan.
The Roma rug is woven and manufactured using the highly specialised technique of gun-tufting. An innovative addition to the range of quality and excellence provided by Pinton, a company that is always equipped with the latest new technologies demanded for modern design and creation, and which is the only manufacturer in France to offer these types of tufted rugs finished entirely in knotted stitches. This method – in which the hands of the artisans play an essential role, assisted by the machine that acts as a faithful collaborator in shaping their creations – makes all kinds of eccentric design features possible: shapes, colour combinations, patterns, embossing… resulting in a remarkable and virtually tailor-made end product.
The perfect finishes for a piece with character
The Roma rug is made from 100% natural New Zealand wool, an excellent material whose fibres are specially spun and dyed to the specified colour on site. The softness and suppleness of our creation, guaranteed by the tufting process, makes it an exceptional piece to own for a lifetime, and even pass on to the next generation!,
Available in three shades – pinkish beige (for pastel surroundings), green and brick red (the elegance of contrasts) and blue (a celebration of the 1970s) – Roma is the perfect piece to add both character and colour to your interior. And to create a new ambiance, simply place your rug in a different location whenever the fancy takes you!
Three sizes, including one round option
Our Roma rug is available in two rectangular sizes: 150 x 200 cm and 200 x 300 cm. These standard dimensions are perfect for any room requiring a touch of softness! You can easily picture Roma in a lounge over a wooden or antique floor, under a dining room table to create a meal space, or in a bedroom as a bedside rug.
Roma is also available in a 200 cm diameter round version. The ultimate in highly original rugs, it will quickly become the centrepiece of your interior. If you are looking to really set off and personalise the space, this is the version you require!
